- Brechner Center for Freedom of Information: A resource center primarily dealing with Florida freedom of information law issues. The center's online Media Law Sourcebook provides information on organizations, publications and contacts in each state on FOI issues.
- First Amendment Center: A forum for the study and exploration of free-expression issues, including freedom of speech, of the press and of religion, the right to assemble and petition the government.
- Freedom Forum: The Freedom Forum serves as an international center for dialogue and debate on a variety of free expression issues.
- International Women's Media Foundation: The IWMF's mission is to strengthen the role of women in the news media around the world, based on the belief that no press is truly free unless women share an equal voice.
- Newseum: An interactive museum of news
- Newspaper Association of America: In addition to general information of interest to journalists, the NAA site includes a comprehensive list of on-line newspapers.
- Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press: a nonprofit organization that assists reporters and editors for commercial media and produces publications on a multitude of press law issues. Their website is one of the more useful on the Internet for journalists.
- Society of Professional Journalists: the largest professional association of journalists in America. SPJ sponsors student chapters at colleges and universities throughout the country.
- The Society for News Design: A nonprofit organization of publishers, editors, designers, artists, photographers, managers, students
and faculty who design newspapers, magazines and Web
pages.
Civil Liberties Organization
- Free Expression Policy Project: Describing itself as a "think tank on artistic and intellectual freedom," the FEPP provides empirical
research and policy development on censorship issues and seeks free speech-friendly solutions to the concerns that drive censorship campaigns.
- Illinois First Amendment Center: The main goal of the center is to lead the fight to protect First Amendment freedoms in Illinois. The site also includes general information and educational materials on First Amendment issues.
- Peacefire: an organization founded to represent the interests of young people in the debate over freedom of speech on the Internet, particularly with regard to Internet filter software programs.
