Frank LoMonte, Executive Director, is an experienced commercial litigation attorney who joined SPLC after practicing with the Atlanta-based law firm of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP and clerking for federal judges on the Northern District of Georgia and the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Before law school, LoMonte was an award-winning investigative journalist and political columnist in state Capitol bureaus in Florida and Georgia and in Washington, D.C., with the Morris newspaper chain. LoMonte graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was a senior editor of the Georgia Law Review. E-Mail

Adam Goldstein, Attorney Advocate, graduated from Fordham University School of Law in May 2002. He received his undergraduate degree in Internet journalism from Fordham College at Lincoln Center, where he was editor-in-chief of the FCLC Observer. For three years, Goldstein worked as a freelance producer and editor for FoxNews.com. E-Mail

Mike Hiestand, Consulting Attorney, Zenger Consulting, grew up in Alaska and is a graduate of Bartlett High School in Anchorage,
Marquette University's College of Journalism and Cornell Law School. Hiestand was the Student Press Law Center's staff attorney from 1991-2003. Over the years, he has assisted more than 14,000 student journalists and advisers. He now works from the West Coast as an independent legal consultant to the SPLC. E-Mail

Beverly Keneagy, Development and Communications Consultant, has more than 20 years experience in development, communications, marketing and public relations. She began her career as a news reporter and has worked as the communications director for several state agencies. She most recently worked for a Florida non-profit, where she was a senior manager overseeing communications and development, securing nearly $5 million annually in funding. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of Florida and is a former SPLC intern. E-Mail

Brian Schraum, McCormick Foundation Publications Fellow, received his master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri, where he studied media law and policy. He graduated from Washington State University in 2007. Schraum previously interned for the First Amendment Center in Nashville and for newspapers in Washington and Missouri. He also initiated efforts to enact student press rights legislation in Washington and was a high school, community college and university student journalist.

Jennifer Kiel, Office Manager, is a graduate of Mary Washington College with a degree in elementary education and social studies. She has many years experience as a teacher, researcher, and administrative and executive assistant. Most recently serving as a research assistant with an investment bank, she came to the SPLC to bring her many years of experience in the "for-profit" world to the non-profit world where it would do more good.

Nick Glunt is a December 2011 graduate of Kent State University in Ohio, where he climbed the ranks to managing editor of the Daily Kent Stater newspaper. He’s been a reporter, columnist and editor. Among his most memorable stories is extensive coverage of the untimely eviction of Silver Oaks Place, a retirement community in Kent, Ohio.
